Stand up comedian Carlos Mencia leaves his comedy act behind for a new dramatic role in OUR FAMILY WEDDING alongside Ugly Betty's America Ferrera and Forest Whitaker.        

In a departure for the funny man, Carlos Mencia plays it straight as 'Miguel,' a father of two protesting his daughter's (America Ferrera) impending marriage to her African-American boyfriend.  Forrest Whitaker equally doesn't care for his son's choice and the two clash over their cultural differences.

On the surface, Miguel may seem prejudice but Carlos explains to CineMovie it's not based on racism but something Tiger Woods will understand one day.  Mencia describes a father's worst fear, "No one is every good for your dad. Every dad imagines what his daughter is dating is exactly how he was at that age--that's the problem."

Carlos goes on to say that womanizers are the worst when it comes to their daughter's suitors and Tiger Woods is going to be that kind of father because of his philandering ways.  "Tiger Woods' has a daughter and one day she's gonna have to go through that process..He's gonna say' Man she's gonna meet someone like me. F***!'

While Mencia's 'Miguel' in OUR FAMILY WEDDING is neither a womanizer or a racist, his character does use the race card to push buttons with Forest Whitaker and vice versa but the Mind of Mencia host doesn't think that makes you racist.  "I don't think that Miguel is racist at all or really prejudice as much as its the easiest thing to go to when you have an argument or you have hate" according to Mencia.  "Every group has that word or that thing you can say" Mencia explains, that is the "atomic weapon."
