Hugh Laurie interview

CineMovie sat down with "House MD's" Hugh Laurie who voices Santa Clause's oldest son in ARTHUR CHRISTMAS. Hugh Laurie has played the Easter Bunny in HOP, and now another famous holiday character. Does he have a thing for the holidays? And what is his favorite holiday?

Hugh Laurie is no stranger to voice over acting with frequent gigs in animated films and tv shows such as "The Simpsons," "Family Guy," Monsters vs Aliens (2009) Stuart Little 2 (2002), and this year alone he's been the Easter Bunny in Hop and Santa Claus' heir to the sled in ARTHUR CHRISTMAS.  Hugh Laurie tells CineMovie's Fernando Esquivel the holiday theme this year is purely coincidental and places the blame on the Hollywood studios who pick the holiday movies because of their popularity.  He just happens to be called for the voice over jobs.

Regarding his favorite holiday, the ARTHUR CHRISTMAS actor says he doesn't have one but the Britiish actor finds it humorous that Americans celebrate many of the festivities like Thanksgiving which he doesn't understand.  However, he'll take the days off anytime.

In ARTHUR CHRISTMAS, Hugh Laurie's character plays Steve Claus, big brother to Arthur Christmas who hopes to take over for dear old dad, but Steve is the rightful heir to the North Pole kingdom.
