Real-life MMA fighter turned action star Gina Carano might have faked her on-screen fight scenes in Steven Soderbergh's HAYWIRE, but the first-time actress says she got the same adrenaline rush as if taking on an opponent in the cage. Gina Carano also reveals which injury has been her worst so far during competition.

Considered the face of Women's Mixed Martial Arts, director Steven Soderbergh became a fan and approached the Texas- born fighter about headlining an espionage thriller.  In HAYWIRE, Gina plays Mallory Cane, a female cover ops specialist who goes rogue after a set-up.  To play a highly trained operative, Gina underwent intensive training with Aaron Cohen, an Israeli trained special ops for undercover operations, who served as Haywire's technical advisor. Aaron Cohen trained Gina in a 5,000 square-foot warehouse in downtown Los Angeles for two months of bootcamp.

As for the physical training, the film's choreographer J.J. Perry and stunt coordinator R.A. Rondell didn't have to teach Gina how to fight, but how not to hurt anyone as the cameras rolled. They "reprogrammed" her way of thinking in order to make a "movie punch" work. When it came to fighting on celluloid, the daughter of former Dallas Cowboy quarterback Glenn Carano, says the make believe fight sequences gave her the same kind of rush as in the ring.

While she avoided any injuries on set, she does love a good fight in real-life. The Muay Thai expert told CineMovie her worst injury during her career has not been a physical one but emotional.  Whenever she leaves a fight unscathed or "with no battle wounds" her "pride" gets hurt the most.
