Long before Twilight became a pop culture phenomena, Kate Beckinsale became a fan boy's dream with her turn as vampire warrior Selene in 2003. Kate suits up once again to battle Lycans and humans in UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING, but good luck getting her Twi-hard daughter to watch any of the Underworld films.
How many kids can say both their parents have played vampires on screen in two hugely popular franchises? Kate Beckinsale's daughter can. The tween Twilight die-hard, however, does have a preference for her favorite blood-sucker. And we're sorry to hear that Selene is not top vampire. Kate Beckinsale shares a daughter with actor and Underworld co-star Michael Sheen. Michael Sheen has often told press he had scored brownie points with his daughter when he signed on to play the vampire Aro in the Twilight Saga: New Moon and both Breaking Dawn films.
CineMovie sat down with the Underworld action heroine and wondered who was the cooler vampire in that household. Kate tells us she stays neutral out of respect for her daughter's father. Kate added that she can't interest her daughter in seeing any of the Underworld films. However, she's fine with the fact that the films may be too mature for her teenage daughter anyhow.
Funny enough, in the fourth installment of the Underworld franchise, Selene becomes a mother to a half/Lycan, half-vampire love child whom she protects fiercely. At least her on-screen daughter has interest in mom's work.
UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING is in movie theatres January 20.
