If you missed the NY Giants' win over the New England Patriots at Super Bowl 2012 then you probably also missed the movie trailer spots. Take a look at what you skipped and then some - with some extra footage for The Avengers and John Carter appearing online during Sunday's extravaganza.
This year, the Super Bowl commercials went for $3.5 million for a 30-second spot. Movie studios paid big bucks to parade their upcoming action movies to the testosterone-heavy viewers like Disney's John Carter, Battleship, Marvel's The Avengers, Act of Valor and G.I. Joe: Retaliation.Battleship proved to be the most commented on Twitter with most people calling the film Transformers 4. The Avengers, however, got most people excited as new footage premiered along with action from the Hulk.
Family-friendly fare Dr. Seuss' The Lorax also claimed a spot while Sasha Baron Cohen made a comeback in his spot for his new comedy THE DICTATOR starring alongside Megan Fox.
The Hunger Games trailer aired during the pre-show, avoiding the hefty price tag ( see Trailer #2 here).
Below is a list/preview of 2012 trailers from the Super Bowl.
