5 Reasons Jennifer Aniston Agreed to Star in 'Mother’s Day' without Reading Script

MOTHER’S DAY’s Jennifer Aniston stars in an all-star cast in MOTHER’S DAY directed by Garry Marshall (The Pretty Woman), and she recently revealed she signed on to the project without reading the script for various reasons.
1. Director Garry Marshall
The main attraction to MOTHER’S DAY was director Garry Marshall. At a recent press conference with her MOTHER’S DAY co-star Jason Sudeikis, Aniston explained her love for Marshall’s early work in television with "Happy Days," "The Odd Couple" and "Laverne & Shirley" being some of her childhood favorites including his movies.
“I was, kind of, without even reading the script, I think we said, ‘yup!,’ says the star.
2. Jason Sudeikis
According to Jennifer Aniston, MOTHER’S DAY marks their fifth collaboration together after working on both Horrible Bosses movies, We’re The Millers (2013) and The Bounty Hunter (2010). When asked why they enjoy working together, both Aniston and Sudeikis offered their reasons.
Jennifer: We have fun together. He makes me laugh.
Jason: Vice versa. We get along,”
Jennifer: It’s years of knowing each other and feeling comfortable.
Jason: Successes and failures and still liking each other on the other side.
3. Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson and Aniston have been long-time friends, according to Aniston and they finally had the chance to work together even if it was brief.
“We’ve never had the opportunity to do something together. Julia same thing. So I was just over the moon. That was another great reason. Look at who the cast is. It was really fun, but I wish we had more together.”
4. Julia Roberts
Aniston says she’s also known Julia Roberts for a long time, and only had a single day of shooting with the pretty woman.
“We did laugh a lot, but again we were moving. We were working so didn’t have a lot of goofing around time. We always laugh. Laughing is always important on a set.” Listen to audio below.
5. Appreciation of Mother’s Day
While she’s not a mother yet, Aniston has always appreciated moms through years of watching her friends with their children. The film didn’t offer any new perspectives on the subject matter.
“And he [Marshall] really does a beautiful job on touching on all sort of different scenarios of what the family unit looks like today. I think it’s quite lovely. This doesn’t change how I feel about motherhood. They’re incredible.”
