Warner Bros. announced Friday the start of production for the next installment in Legendary Pictures’ Monsterverse, titled GODZILLA X KONG: SUPERNOVA, with a scheduled theatrical release on March 26, 2027. A teaser video was released and a phone number stunt, officially revealing the film’s title as GODZILLA X KONG: SUPERNOVA.
Production and Creative Team
This film follows the events of GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE (2024) and continues the saga of the iconic Titans. Grant Sputore, known for directing I AM MOTHER, is set to helm SUPERNOVA. He takes over from Adam Wingard, who directed the previous two entries but stepped away due to scheduling conflicts. The screenplay is penned by David Callaham, who contributed to the 2014 GODZILLA reboot. 
Cast and Filming
The cast includes returning actor Dan Stevens, alongside new additions Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Matthew Modine, Alycia Debnam-Carey, and Sam Neill. Principal photography began in April 2025 in Queensland, Australia, utilizing Village Roadshow Studios .
