Jamie Foxx's Cold-Blooded Killer in 'Baby Driver' Based On Friend

Baby Driver Jamie Foxx Bats

Jamie Foxx's Bats character in BABY DRIVER is one scary mofo, and what's even scarier is that Foxx tells CineMovie his cold-blooded killer is based on a real-life person and this person happens to be a friend. Listen to our interview with the BABY DRIVER star.

Directed by Edgar Wright, BABY DRIVER stars Ansel Elgort, Lily James, Jon Hamm, Kevin Spacey, Eiza Gonzalez and Foxx. The group are part of a crime circuit who pull off heist with Baby (Elgort) as their getaway driver.

'Baby Driver's' Ansel Elgort Reveals Which Driving Stunts He Performed

As Foxx's character name suggests, Bats is an unhinged criminal who kills at will with no remorse. He's the loose cannon who can bring Baby's last heist plans into jeopardy. When CineMovie sat down with Foxx, Jon Hamm and Eiza Gonzales at a press event, Foxx says he based Bats on a friend he met when he first arrived to Los Angeles in the 80s. He mentioned that friend was coming to the hotel where the interviews were being held to visit him. We hope that visit occurred after the press interviews.

Listen to him explain who he met this friend below.
