Marvel pays homage to classic monster movies with WEREWOLF BY NIGHT starring Gael Garcia Bernal, and is unlike anything Marvel has done. The black-and-white cinematography is truly macabre with true blacks that harken back to the classics.

In NOTHING COMPARES, director Kathryn Ferguson (TAKING THE WATERS, SPACE TO BE) presents a different side to the Irish singer/songwriter, framing her as a trailblazer and perhaps the first spokesperson for the MeToo movement.

Mexico’s beloved actress Veronica Castro hits the big screen in CUANDO SEA JOVEN along with Natasha Dupeyron (Casa de Flores) playing her 22-year-old self. The comedy is a wholesome good time for the entire family, especially for your abuelitas. The swapping lives plot has been done to death but this one brings a few surprises and lots of charm.

The Star Wars movies and series under Disney have largely played to fan service but Andor creates a whole new world outside of the existing Star Wars universe that feels fresh and cinematic. Disney+ 12-episode series takes its time setting up this new world and the characters that will play a part in the early days of the Rebellion but it’s worth it.

Lightning McQueen and Mater team up for Disney+’s CARS spin-off series in Cars on the Road. Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy return to voice the animated vehicles in an all-new adventure in nine short but sweet episodes that remind us why we love these Pixar characters so much.

The live-action adaptation of Disney's PINOCCHIO starring Tom Hanks as Geppetto and a CGI wooden boy is a shot-by-shot recreation of the 1940's Disney classic in a more visually-stunning format with many Easter Eggs for Disney fans. Aside from the cinematic upgrade and addition of a diverse cast, Disney+'s PINOCCHIO doesn't offer much in terms of novelty.

Darren Aronofsky is back with another divisive movie in THE WHALE. THE WHALE star Brendan Fraser received an 6-minute standing ovation at the 79th Venice Film Festival after the screening for his portrayal of a reclusive obese man but the critics aren’t entirely praising Aronofsky’s latest effort and two critic’s choice of words in their reviews are in poor taste.

Olivia Wilde’s DON’T WORRY DARLING premiered at the Venice Film Festival with the director and stars Florence Pugh, Chris Pine, Harry Styles, Gemma Chan and Nick Kroll in attendance Monday. Pugh received a standing ovation at the festival premiere, and the early reviews are lavishing their praises on the actress for carrying the movie set in an idyllic ’50s community. She Hulk: Attorney at Law is like no other Marvel series. It’s Ally McBeal on steroids. Tatiana Maslany is so delightful and nails the comedy which often breaks the fourth wall. There’s so many female truth bombs that will have women cheering along with tons of MCU throwbacks that tie in with past movie events. And finally, we get the answer to whether Captain America was a virgin.

THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER continue the quirkiness that started in RAGNAROK but the Taika Waititi’s MCU follow-up is all over the map as far as tone. That’s not to say LOVE AND THUNDER isn't as fun but it takes a more somber turn for the final act. Natalie Portman doesn’t disappoint, earning the Mjolnir, and Christian Bale is a worthy villain as Gorr.

Prime Video’s The Terminal List series, based on Jack Carr’s novel, drags after the first episode with flat performances from Chris Pratt and most of the cast. The lackluster and unoriginal story is a cross between THE FUGITIVE and DEATH WISH, but the action gets better towards the end of the eight-episode season.

MINIONS: THE RISE OF GRU is the fifth feature film in the franchise, and you get what you came for - fun. A prequel to the DESPICABLE ME movies and an origin story, the animated flick is set in the 1970s to funky music which really sets the mood for some hilarious Minions and Gru antics.

Baz Luhrmann’s ELVIS movie is the best biopic about the King. Luhrmann’s story recognizes Elvis Presley’s musical influences from the Black community and his interaction with the segregated group. Austin Butler captures the charisma of Elvis and those expressive eyes. Tom Hanks gets the job done as the despicable and manipulative manager.
