10 Box Office Turkeys

Toy Story 2 holds the record for best Thanksgiving 5-day opening with $57 million, followed by four other Disney movies in the top five with Tangled, Enchanted, 101 Dalmations, and A Bug's Life.  In comparison, the worst openings made $20 to $30 million less.

1. Rent ($10 mil)
The Broadway musical adaptation starring Rosario Dawson, Taye Diggs, and Jesse L. Martin didn't quite make a splash during this weekend in 2005.

2. Three Men and a Baby ($10.3 mil)
While it eventually went on to make $167 million domestically, the opening in 1987 starring Tom Selleck, Ted Danson, and Steve Guttenberg was nothing to give thanks to.

3. Money Train ($10.6 mil)
Jennifer Lopez, Wesley Snipes, and Woody Harrelson's star power didn't help its 5-day take in 1995.

4. The Missing ($10.8 mil)
Ron Howard's 2003 period western failed to bring in the audiences Thanksgiving weekend with Cate Blanchett and Tommy Lee Jones headlining.  

5. Black Knight ($11.1 mil)
Martin Lawrence time traveling to Medieval times was a real turkey in 2001 when bad reviews kept audiences away.

6. Hugo ($11.4 mil)
Martin Scorcese's beautifully told story set in 1930s Paris didn't translate to box office numbers with marketing incorrectly aiming for families. It went on to earn a few Academy Award nominations and wins at the 2012 ceremonies.

7. Burlesque ($11.9 mil)
Cher and Christina Aguilera 2010 starrer danced straight to the bottom of the charts.

8. Deck The Halls ($12.0 mil)
The Christmas-themed movie starring Matthew Broderick and Danny DeVito failed to light up the box office in 2006.

9. Transporter 3 ($12.1 mil)
The third Jason Statham action flick in 2008 didn't open as well as his last two runs as Frank Marshall.

10. Arthur Christmas ($12.1 mil)
The animated Christmas story was a big disappointment for Sony Animation last season.
