Shawn Mendes Can Relate to Lyle the Crocodile's Stage Fright Says the Film Directors

Shawn Mendes is a singing crocodile for the new film, LYLE, LYLE, CROCODILE, and directors Josh Gordon and Will Speck tell CineMovie the singer revealed he still suffers from stage fright like his character. We're also talking about how impressive Javier Bardem is as the showman with his dancing, singing and magic tricks.
The Canadian singer provides the singing voice for Lyle the Crocodile in the live-action/CGI musical comedy, based on the best-selling book series by Bernard Waber. LYLE, LYLE CROCODILE's human cast includes Javier Bardem, Constance Wu, Scoot McNairy and Winslow Fegley.
The Primm family moves to New York City, and the young son Josh discovers a singing crocodile living in their attic. The two become fast friends but Lyle is in danger of being sent to the zoo if their grumpy neighbor finds his neighbor's pet is a crocodile. Bardem is Lyle's owner Hector P. Valenti, a magician showman, who found the singing Lyle as a little critter.
LYLE, LYLE, CROCODILE features original songs performed by Shawn Mendes and written by the songwriting team behind The Greatest Showman, Benj Pasek & Justin Paul. Joining Pasek and Paul in writing original songs for the film are Ari Afsar, Emily Gardner Xu Hall, Mark Sonnenblick, and Joriah Kwamé. Directed and produced by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, the screenplay is by Will Davies. The film is produced by Hutch Parker and executive produced by Kevin K. Vafi, Dan Wilson, Robert J. Dohrmann, Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, Tarak Ben Ammar and Andy Mitchell.
The Sony Pictures film will release in the US on October 7, 2022.
