CineMovie attended the VIP press event for the grand opening of Universal Studios Hollywood’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Universal Studios put on quite a show to unveil the West Coast debut of the immersive land which included fireworks, a spectacular light show to the tune of John Williams conducting the LA Phil Harmonic. Hearing the Harry Potter score playing over the unveiling of Hogwarts castle left most visitors speechless. Check out the photo gallery and video of the event.

BMD.com is reporting SUICIDE SQUAD is currently undergoing reshoots to include more humor in the August 5th release. CineMovie can confirm that at least Will Smith and Adele Akinnuoye-Abjaje are partaking in the reshoots as they were recently spotted at a sound stage at a Hollywood studio lot.

Imagine Danny Trejo wielding a machete in the kitchen chopping up carne asada, some chicken and lettuce. The actor is now a restaurateur with his own franchise, Trejo’s Tacos, and he tells CineMovie they cater to vegetarians, vegans and authentic Mexicanos. Most men grow up reading comic books and admiring either Superman or Spider-Man, but for actor Cliff Curtis, his first superhero was Jesus Christ. The star of "Fear the Walking Dead" and RISEN tells CineMovie his comic book was the Bible and Jesus Christ was the hero he dreamed of being. The New Zealander who is of Māori descent, fulfilled a life-long dream to play Jesus Christ in the movie RISEN. He tells us the role of a lifetime sent him into a panic before shooting the film co-starring Joseph Fiennes.

On Tuesday, Cinemovie attended a special “Sneak Beak” event for the upcoming ANGRY BIRDS movie based upon the popular mobile video game franchise. The one question that the game developer Rovio gets asked most is, “Why are the birds so angry?” Questions like these and the immense popularity of the franchise propelled Sony to create a mythology behind the game. Producer John Cohen shared some snippets from the film and treated us to a hilarious Q&A with funnymen and ANGRY BIRD voice cast Jason Sudekis, Bill Hader, Josh Gad, and Danny McBride (video below).

I think it’s safe to say that no 3D film has been able to accomplish what James Cameron did with Avatar. Blending live action with CGI is an art form that requires time, a lot of love, and heaps of money. Luckily for Disney, they have a ton of that. They’ve employed director Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Chef) to spearhead a live action remake of THE JUNGLE BOOK that takes the most current digital technology and pushes it to it’s limits--Watch out James Cameron! At a recent sneak peak CineMovie attended for THE JUNGLE BOOK, Favreau and visual effect’s supervisor Rob Legato showed us exclusive scenes from the movie and demonstrated why the films digital effects and 3D experience will soon become the standard in Hollywood cinema.

CineMovie got the chance to experience working in front of a green screen, and to see how it's done. While KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS is an animated stop-motion film, I was inserted into a scene from the movie using green screen. Check out how it turned out, and why I should keep my day job.
