Anthony and Joe Russo return to the director's chair after directing the last few AVENGER movies with Apple TV+'s upcoming movie, CHERRY starring Tom Holland. It seems the brother duo keep tapping into the Marvel line-up after producing films with Chris Hemsworth in EXTRACTION and Chadwick Boseman's 21 BRIDGES. CHERRY will debut on Apple TV+ on March 12 after a theatrical run on February 26. Read on for the synopsis.

In the latest Hollywood movie shuffle, Warner Bros. moved the WONDER WOMAN sequel to Christmas day this year.  WONDER WOMAN 1984 was originally scheduled for a summer release, but the pandemic sent the film into a few date changes. Many are wondering why the movie studio won't move the most anticipated DC film to 2021. CineMovie conducted a poll asking Twitter users whether they'd want to watch Gal Gadot return as Diana Prince this year, move it to next year or release it on VOD. The results are not surprising. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ next flick RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON opens in theaters March 12, 2021, but seven months out from the release - Disney announced the lead has been recast with Kelly Marie Tran (STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI) voicing Raya along with two additional directors. Disney veteran Don Hall (BIG HERO 6, MOANA) and newcomer Carlos López Estrada (BLINDSPOTTING) were also announced as new directors along with the original directors getting co-director credit.

Russell Crowe's UNHINGED is the first major theatrical release to hit movie theaters in months, playing in 1,823 North American theaters. The thriller earned $4 million over the weekend, which in ordinary times would be considered a weak opening, but given the landscape - Solstice Studios is happy with the box office results. In addition to touting their successful release, the studio's official statement seems to be trying to convince movie-goers that watching films in a movie theater is safe.

Matt Reeves laid out the entire story for his take on THE BATMAN, and it's going to be epic. Described as a detective story, Robert Pattinson sets out to solve some heinous murders in Gotham City. Inspired by the movie CHINATOWN, this version of the caped crusader will not be an origins story but as someone coming into his abilities.  A first look was released, and the mood is definitely dark and gritty.

Jordan, Jamie Foxx and Brie Larson is based on the true story of a wrongly accused black man on death row who was later acquitted thanks to activist lawyer Bryan Stevenson.  JUST MERCY is a compelling film that should anger everyone over the social inustice the judicial system enacts on black men too often.

UPDATE: Zack and Deborah Synder told the Hollywood Reporter the new cut may be a four-movie or cut into episodes for the new streaming service. HR also has sources claiming Warner Bros. is budgeting $20 to $30 million for post production which sounds like it needs a bit of work which explains the 2021 release. 

Since the 2017 release of DC's JUSTICE LEAGUE, fans and cast members have been campaigning for Warner Bros. to release the Zack Synder cut of JUSTICE LEAGUE, and it seems to have paid off with Synder's version coming to HBO Max in 2021.
