Cobra Kai's Xolo Maridueña's karate skills will come in handy as the Blue Beetle DC comic book superhero. The new trailer introduces the main characters and villains played by Susan Sarandon and Raoul Trujillo (Mayans MC). Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle will have some help from his family including a mullet-wearing George Lopez as Uncle Rudy.
The BLUE BEETLE trailer introduces Jaime Reyes and how he comes into his powers through a Scarab that attaches to his face. The first preview showcases some of his powers and his family's reaction to his new role. We also get a tease of the villains Jaime will go up against.
The first look at the Latino superhero has a Power Rangers vibe in the action with tons of humor.
Harvey Guillen (What We Do In The Shadows), Damian Alcazar (Narcos, Acapulco), Adriana Barraza, and Belissa Escobedo join in the superhero adventure. BLUE BEETLE opens only in theaters on August 18th.

Recent college grad Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab. When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Superhero Blue Beetle.
