Amazon MGM Studios brought major heat to CinemaCon in Las Vegas last week, unveiling an exciting slate packed with A-list talent, reboots, and exclusive footage revealed only to attendees. Below is a highlight of the most anticipated movies from Amazon MGM's 2026–2027 slate, along with descriptions of the exclusive previews.
The evening presentation opened with musician Jon Batiste playing an exciting, wild piano tune.
The Thomas Crown Affair
Following the impressive musical performance, theater exhibitors and the press got their first look at the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, directed by and starring Michael B. Jordan.
The footage teased a modern, high-stakes heist story, with Jordan portraying a suave mastermind pulling off daring, “Tom Cruise-level” stunts.
Jordan plays a slick art thief in a cat-and-mouse game with actress Adria Arjona.
Michael B. Jordan later took the stage to explain why he wanted to star in and direct a remake of the classic, following in the footsteps of Pierce Brosnan and Steve McQueen. He also revealed that Jon Batiste is composing for the remake, and attendees got a taste of the unconventional sound.
Adria Arjona then joined Jordan on stage in matching suits and joked that this Crown is no match for her character.
Project Hail Mary Celebrates Success
Ryan Gosling, Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller surprised attendees next. The trio appeared to celebrate the success of Project Hail Mary, which has now surpassed $570 million globally.
The actor and filmmakers thanked exhibitors for their support and announced the film would have an extended theatrical window, drawing applause from the audience.
Masters of the Universe Brings Fantasy Action
An extended preview introduced Nicholas Galitzine’s Prince Adam of Eternia, dodging a massive creature until Camila Mendes’ Teela saves the day.
Prince Adam returns to Eternia to reclaim his throne, but his world has changed. The footage introduces additional characters before revealing He-Man in action, battling creatures and Skeletor.
Director Travis Knight, Nicholas Galitzine, and Camila Mendes were on hand to promote the Mattel adaptation.
The Beekeeper 2
Via video, Jason Statham introduced the first look at The Beekeeper sequel. The action star discussed the film while pouring copious amounts of honey into his tea.
The preview leaned into bee puns and over-the-top action, including a scene where a flamethrower is plunged into a villain’s mouth, followed by a “hot head” quip. Another moment shows Statham entering a chamber where bees help heal his injuries.
The former government assassin returns to rescue the kidnapped U.S. president from Pom Klementieff’s (Mission: Impossible: The Final Reckoning) clutches.
Hugh Jackman Leads The Sheep Detectives
Hugh Jackman and Succession’s Nicholas Braun made a surprise appearance and called Nicholas Galitzine back to the stage to promote The Sheep Detectives, along with a trailer.

A Colt Is My Passport trailer played next with little fanfare. Gangs of London and The Raid’s Gareth Evans directs this action-packed, gritty film starring Sope Dirisu, Lucy Boynton, and Tim Roth.
David Leitch’s Wild New Action Film
The wildest trailer of the night followed: How to Rob a Bank. A gang of robbers wearing wolf masks documents their heists on social media. The viral anti-capitalist group sells merchandise and shares its exploits for others to replicate.
Action director David Leitch unveiled the film alongside star Pete Davidson, while Nicholas Hoult and Anna Sawai sent in video messages expressing their excitement.
The trailer promises a chaotic, high-energy ride, with Davidson describing the film as “fu**ing insane,” setting the tone for a bold, adrenaline-fueled entry.

Spaceballs 2 Official Title
A sneak peek opened with Dark Helmet in a comedic bit, followed by original cast members Daphne Zuniga, Bill Pullman, and Rick Moranis taking the stage with director Josh Greenbaum.
They were joined by new cast members Josh Gad, Lewis Pullman (Bill Pullman’s son), and Keke Palmer via video.
The trailer revealed Josh Gad as a character resembling John Candy’s Barf—though possibly a new role—and showcased the new crew in action. The film parodies sci-fi hits like Avatar, including a gag featuring a Na’vi-like creature at a urinal.
In one of the biggest surprises, Mel Brooks appeared via video to announce the official title: Spaceballs: The New One.
Highlander Reboot: First Look
Henry Cavill addressed the audience in a video message from set, appearing battle-worn as MacLeod. He revealed production is halfway complete under John Wick director Chad Stahelski.
Early footage included behind-the-scenes glimpses of stunts, sets, and cast members Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Russell Crowe, and Djimon Hounsou.
The gritty fight sequences evoke John Wick, particularly club fights and a large-scale music festival set among Roman ruins.
I Play Rocky Trailer
