’Tis the season for holiday movies, Christmas classics and, of course, the annual debate over whether Die Hard belongs on that list. This year, fans have another excuse to revisit the argument when three of John McClane’s (Bruce Willis) adventures arrive in new 4K Ultra HD SteelBook editions on December 1.

Die Hard 2 and Die Hard with a Vengeance make their 4K Ultra HD debuts, joining the original Die Hard in individual 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital Code SteelBooks. Fans can finally experience the second and third films of the legendary franchise in jaw-dropping, crystal-clear resolution, while Die Hard, Live Free or Die Hard and A Good Day to Die Hard will receive new artwork on digital retailers, giving all films in the franchise a fresh, cohesive look.

Bruce Willis stars as New York City cop John McClane, the wisecracking action hero who first found himself battling Alan Rickman’s unforgettable Hans Gruber during a Christmas Eve takeover of Nakatomi Plaza. That holiday setting has fueled decades of debate: Is Die Hard actually a Christmas movie or simply an action movie that happens to take place at Christmas?

Whichever side you fall on, Die Hard has become a holiday viewing tradition for plenty of fans—and the December 1 release certainly gives them another reason to declare it one.

The celebration extends beyond the first three movies. Die Hard, Live Free or Die Hard and A Good Day to Die Hard will also receive new artwork across digital retailers, giving the entire franchise a refreshed and cohesive look.

So break out the eggnog, cue up John McClane and prepare to argue about it all over again.

Welcome to the Christmas party, pal!
