The Get Out
One of this week's biggest digital releases is The Get Out, starring Russell Crowe, Nina Dobrev, Aaron Paul, Luke Evans, and Teresa Palmer.
Director Derrick Borte reunites with Russell Crowe following Unhinged for a crime thriller packed with multiple storylines that take their time coming together. While the setup is slow, the payoff is explosive, unpredictable, and ultimately rewarding. It's easily one of the more entertaining entries in Russell Crowe's recent run of B-movie thrillers.
Man of War
If character-driven thrillers aren't your thing, Man of War delivers plenty of action.
LaMonica Garrett stars as an elite Special Forces veteran who sets out to rescue his niece after Russian mercenaries invade Ukraine. The film's biggest draw is its relentless gunplay, massive firefights, and nonstop explosions, but the setting during the opening days of the Russian invasion gives the action an especially compelling backdrop.

ELLE (Prime Video)
For those looking for something lighter, all eight episodes of the Legally Blonde prequel ELLE are now streaming on Prime Video.
I'll admit I was skeptical that anyone could capture Reese Witherspoon's iconic Elle Woods energy, but Lexi Minetree quickly won me over. While the physical resemblance isn't immediate, she nails Elle's charm, optimism, and mannerisms within minutes.
Setting Elle Woods in the grunge capital of the world is a brilliant twist. Her signature blonde ambition and pink wardrobe make her an instant outsider, and the classic Legally Blonde underdog story carries over beautifully as you find yourself rooting for Elle all over again.
The Sheep Detectives (Prime Video)

Zach Cregger's Barbarian (2022) is back in 4K on Digital and arrives on 4K Blu-ray and DVD on September 22.
This horror-comedy perfectly balances laughs with cringe-worthy scares and has a vibe reminiscent of the Evil Dead films. It also helped launch Cregger's Hollywood career.
Cregger's Weapons is currently streaming on HBO Max, one of the best horror movie this decade.
