'Stranger Things: Tales From ’85' Heads to Theaters for a One-Day Fan Event

Fans of Stranger Things are getting an early return to Hawkins—on the big screen. Netflix has announced a special one-day theatrical event for its upcoming animated spinoff, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, with the first two episodes debuting in select theaters nationwide on April 18. Dubbed “Stranger Saturday,” the screenings will take place at 12 PM and 3 PM local time across 34 U.S. locations in partnership with AMC Theatres, giving fans a chance to experience the new series ahead of its streaming premiere on April 23.

In addition to AMC locations, special screenings will also be held at the Paris Theater in New York and Netflix House Philadelphia. Attendees in the U.S. will receive an exclusive collectible (while supplies last), making the event even more appealing for die-hard fans. Tickets went on sale March 18, and demand is expected to be high as audiences eagerly anticipate this next chapter in the beloved sci-fi franchise.

Set in the winter of 1985, Tales From ’85 reunites viewers with Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max as they settle into a quieter life—until a new mystery begins to surface beneath Hawkins. With series creators The Duffer Brothers executive producing and Eric Robles serving as showrunner, the animated series promises a fresh yet familiar adventure that expands the universe fans know and love.
