EVIL DEAD Remake Trailer - Rate It

Sam Raimi updates his EVIL DEAD franchise with a reboot of the classic horror film that put him on the map. Watch the more gruesome version.

The original cult horror film also launched Burn Notice's Bruce Campbell's career. The campy 1981 film takes place in a cabin in the woods with five friends unleashing flesh-possessing demons. In the new version, the focus is on Mia, a young woman traveling with her brother and a group of friends to a remote cabin.  As Mia struggles with her sobriety, the friends find the Book of the Dead and open a Pandora's box.

In the red-band trailer for the EVIL DEAD, things get gorier and much less camp than the original one. It's definitely going after the Saw crowd.  

Urugyuan director Fede Alvarez directs the reboot from a screenplay by Sam Raimi, Diablo Cody, and writing credit by Alvarez. The EVIL DEAD remake marks Alvarez first foray into an American film.  Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi are also credited as producers.  EVIL DEAD 2013 opens April 12, 2013.
