Despite the hype around Super Bowl advertising, this year’s broadcast featured only a handful of movie trailers, with several major studio tentpoles opting not to buy in for the exposure.
Missing from the spotlight were anticipated blockbusters like Masters of the Universe, Toy Story 5, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (Nov), Avengers: Doomsday (Dec), and Dune: Part Three (Dec).
Here's what aired during Super Bowl LX:
The Mandalorian and Grogu — Star Wars big-screen adventure spot shown during the broadcast.
Scream 7 — New footage teasing the latest chapter in the long-running horror franchise.
Project Hail Mary — Sci-fi adventure starring Ryan Gosling with a space mission twist.
Disclosure Day — Steven Spielberg’s new sci-fi thriller offering a first look at the alien contact story.
Hoppers — New Pixar animated feature trailer aired during game breaks.
Minions & Monsters — First look at the next Minions film debuted in a Super Bowl spot.
The Adventures of Cliff Booth — Surprise teaser for the Netflix sequel starring Brad Pitt was shown.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie — Teaser/spot for the Illumination/Nintendo animated film appeared during ad breaks.
Supergirl teaser also appeared around Super Bowl-related programming (like the Puppy Bowl), but opted out of the big game spotlight.
