'The Adventures of Cliff Booth' Trailer — What to Know About the Sequel to 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'

This year’s biggest surprise at Super Bowl LX wasn’t just another action trailer — it was the first glimpse at The Adventures of Cliff Booth, the sequel/spin-off to Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 hit Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, with Brad Pitt reprising his role as Cliff Booth, but with David Fincher in the director’s chair. The teaser dropped unexpectedly during the broadcast and sent social media into a frenzy.

Here’s everything fans need to know before the film hits Netflix and theaters in 2026.

A New Chapter for Cliff Booth
The Adventures of Cliff Booth continues the story of Cliff Booth, the charming, razor-sharp stuntman portrayed by Brad Pitt — a role that earned Pitt an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in the original film.

But this time, the film takes a fresh twist:
• Quentin Tarantino returns as the screenwriter, crafting new adventures for Cliff.
• David Fincher — the acclaimed director reunites with his  Se7en and Fight Club star, and takes the helm as director, marking an exciting creative mashup between Tarantino, Fincher and Pitt.

This collaboration is a major departure from Tarantino’s usual practice of directing his own scripts, making Cliff Booth a true event in contemporary cinema.

A Stellar Ensemble Cast
In addition to Pitt’s return, the film reunites and expands its roster with both familiar and new faces:
• Timothy Olyphant reprises his role as James Stacy from the original film.
• Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, Holt McCallany, Corey Fogelmanis, and JB Tadena round out the ensemble cast.

Together, they bring Cliff’s ’70s-era escapades to life in what promises to be a wild, retro-tinged ride through Hollywood’s less glamorous side.

What the Trailer Reveals
The first teaser leans heavily into nostalgia and grit:
• The setting feels firmly rooted in the 1970s Hollywood landscape.
• Cliff is shown engaging in classic stunts, bar scenes, and Buick-era hijinks — all underscored by a punchy, period-specific tone.
• The teaser was packed with humor and violence à la Tarantino — albeit with stylistic censorship used during the Super Bowl airing.

While no official release date has been announced, anticipation is building for a late-2026 arrival on Netflix and in select theaters.
