CONAN THE BARBARIAN is director Marcus Nispel third reboot of a previous film. The Friday the 13th (2009) and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) helmer was not looking to base the new film starring Jason Momoa on the Arnold Schwartenegger's Conan, but the original work of Robert E. Howard. So how do you stay faithful to graphic novels for a movie adaptation? The German director breaks down the elements and his approach to CONAN THE BARBARIAN.

About Marcus Nispel:

The German-born filmmaker started his career in advertising as an Art Director in Germany.  At age 20, he came to America on a Fulbright scholarship and became a commercial and music video director.  He has shot over 1000 commercials and music videos to date including videos for Janet Jackson, Puff Daddy, No Doubt, Mariah Carey, Spice Girls, and many more. He's been nominated for 12 MTV Music Video Awards and taken home four spaceman statues.

Nispel made his feature film debut directing a reboot of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in 2003.  He has gone to direct another horror film remake with 2009's Friday the 13th.  After wrapping his work on CONAN THE BARBARIAN, Nispel is currently  at work with new projects, Backmask and Pacemaker.
