The director behind LA FEMME NIKITA, THE PROFESSIONAL, LUCY and THE FIFTH ELEMENT adapts one of his favorite graphic novel to the big screen. Written and directed by Besson, VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS is based on the "Valerian and Laureline" graphic-novel series by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mezieres, first published in 1967.
VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS takes us to the 28th Century with Valerian (DeHaan) and Laureline (Delevingne), special operatives tasked to retreive a deadly weapon which in the wrong hands will mean the destruction of the universe.
VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS is in movie theaters July 21.
