Apple TV is guaranteeing more Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. The darkly comedic thriller starring Tatiana Maslany and Jake Johnson has officially been renewed for a second season following a first-season finale that clearly set the stage for more trouble ahead.

Maslany delivers a terrific performance as Paula, a newly divorced mom whose already complicated life spirals into a dangerous web of blackmail, murder and conspiracy. Balancing the show’s dark comedy with Paula’s increasingly frantic circumstances, Maslany makes the character both funny and compelling as her amateur investigation takes her much further down the rabbit hole than she ever expected.

The season finale also sets up the premise for Season 2, leaving Paula with a whole new set of circumstances to navigate rather than simply wrapping up her investigation. What initially began with her believing she witnessed a crime has clearly grown into something much bigger — and Paula isn't finished yet.

“We are delighted to continue the story of MPG and deeply grateful to Apple and our incredible cast and crew,” said creator and showrunner David J. Rosen. “This is all pretty amazing for a show whose title came from a spam email.”

Along with Maslany and Johnson, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed stars Murray Bartlett, Dolly De Leon, Brandon Flynn, Jessy Hodges, Jon Michael Hill, Charlie Hall, Kiarra Hamagami Goldberg and Nola Wallace.

The complete first season of Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed is now streaming on Apple TV.
