New Alien movie

Ridley Scott’s 1979 sci-fi/horror game-changer ALIEN, will return to movie theaters for a limited time on Alien Day - April 26. A new homage poster (see below) and TV spot were released, and an exclusive conversation between Ridley Scott and Fede Alvarez, the director/writer of the upcoming theatrical release ALIEN: ROMULUS, which will appear on prints of ALIEN in theaters.

Released in June 1979, Ridley Scott’s ALIEN starred Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, Harry Daen Stanton, John Hurt, Ian Holm, Veronica Cartright, and Yaphet Kotto.

ALIEN was not an instant hit. The original film opened to only $3 million compared to STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE's $12 million, that same year. The film went on to earn over $156 million worldwide.

The re-release comes four months shy of the seventh installment in the franchise by Fede Alvarez. Alvarez's c vows to take the franchise back to its roots, and the trailer plays up the horror with some gruesome teases.  ALIEN: ROMULUS opens in movie theaters on August 16.

Along with the film, fans will see an exclusive conversation between Ridley Scott and Fede Alvarez.
