'Mr. Peabody & Sherman's' Ariel Winter: 'I Have A Little Sass in Me'

Ariel-Winter-interview

Modern Family's Ariel Winter had no problem bringing the sass to her character Penny in the new animated film, MR. PEABODY AND SHERMAN.  The teen star tells CineMovie she didn't have to look far in bringing some of that attitude to the role, and she's revealing why she would time travel back in time to meet King Henry VIII, but only if Jonathan Rhys-Meyers were the actual king.

The Modern Family actress joins her tv father Ty Burrell in the adventures of Sherman and his dog father, Mr. Peabody in the time travel adventure movie. This is not Winter's first rodeo in a voiceover booth. Winters is the voice of the Disney princess Sofia the First and has worked on other animated projects such as Phineas & Ferb.

In MR. PEABODY AND SHERMAN, Ariel Winter's character is not so nice to Sherman, but eventually comes around when he proves his "coolness" with his father's time machine. Winter's admits her character had some "unnecessary sass," and that's coming from a teen who knows all about being sassy. "I don't really have to go a lot of places to find the sass, it's kind of been there," she jokes.

Mr. Peabody, Sherman and Penny travel back in time to memorable moments in history. Winter and her co-star Max Charles (Family Guy, The Neighbors), who voices the character of Sherman, picked times in history they would like to go back to. Max thinks visiting the dinosaurs while being invisible would be a neat trick while Winters would like to travel back to meet King Henry VIII, but not the actual King of England. A fan of actor Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Winter wouldn't mind traveling back in time when Rhys-Meyers was King on Showtime's The Tudors.

MR. PEABODY AND SHERMAN hits theaters March 7.
