American-Sniper-ClintEastwood-onset

Michael Moore and Seth Rogen's controversial comments, and the fake baby scandal in American Sniper didn't hurt the film any as it took the number one spot again this weekend at the box office with another record-breaking $64 million. The Clint Eastwood film has become his highest grossing film to date, and the film has surpassed the $200 million mark in North America. Jennifer Lopez's THE BOY NEXT DOOR came in a distant second with $15 million, but it did far better than any other new movie this weekend. Johnny Depp's Mortdecai and the George Lucas-produced Strange Magic didn't even make the top five.

Seth Rogen and James Franco Tweet Out Joy Over THE INTERVIEW's Limited Release

The-Interviiew-Seth-Rogen-James-Franco-movie-image2

Is it a coincidence that North Korea’s internet outage is related to the news that Sony has reversed it’s decision to release THE INTERVIEW on Christmas Day? We hope so but highly unlikely, but two people are most excited over the news are Seth Rogen and James Franco who took to Twitter to tweet out their joy about the news.  Although the controversial film featuring an assassination plot against North Korea’s leader will only be playing in limited theaters across the United States, it’s the right message to send to the hackers. Don’t mess with America.

'The Magnificent Seven' 2016 Movie Review: Remake Doesn't Reinvent The Western Nor Diversity

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

The Magnificent Seven movie review

All I remember of the 1960 version of THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN was that it was heavy on the testosterone and it featured a great cast featuring many Latinos. The remake with Antoine Fuqua lives up to testosterone-heavy action and the cast is phenomenal. What's bothersome of the updated version is that the original American film's setting is a Mexican village, but for the update, the town is white-washed. The consolation prize is that there is one Mexican among the Magnificent Seven. At least no white actor went brown-faced to play a Mexican like Eli Wallach did in the John Sturges movie.  Times are a changing but not by much.
