Exclusive: How Sam Morelos Edged Out 900 Actresses to Star in Colleen Hoover's 'Regretting You' Movie with McKenna Grace and Allison Williams

Actress Sam Morelos beat out more than 900 actresses to land the role of Lexie, Clara’s best friend, in Colleen Hoover’s big-screen adaptation of REGRETTING YOU, starring McKenna Grace and Allison Williams. In this interview, Sam shares what they did in the audition tape to win the part — and how they helped Allison Williams brush up on Gen Z slang while filming M3GAN 2.

REGRETTING YOU opens in movie theaters on October 24. 

Los Angeles native Sam Morelos is an actress and director, known for The Point, Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me, Descendants: The Rise of Red, That ‘90s Show, and Summer of 69. They took up acting at a young age, attending the California School of the Arts in the San Gabriel Valley. They are a first-generation Filipino-American.
