NO SPOILERS
After an uneven Daredevil: Born Again first season, all eight episodes of Season 2 are a solid watch with some surprises that will blow Marvel comic book fans’ minds.
In Season 2, Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) rules New York City with an iron fist and his personal police force, the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, as he hunts down Daredevil. Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) survives underground as a fugitive and fights to expose Kingpin’s corruption.
The stakes are higher as we rejoin the saga of Daredevil and Kingpin. Matt and Karen (Deborah Ann Woll) join forces to bring down the Mayor. The two are also hooking up, but the sparks are missing. The former friends-turned-lovers relationship comes out of nowhere. Although there was sexual tension in Season 1, how did they suddenly get together?
The action and fight scenes are next level, with a fiercer Daredevil in his new black suit. The vigilante is unforgiving and less patient with his enemies. What we lacked in action scenes in Season 1 is made up for in the new episodes, with fight sequences worthy of the first run of Daredevil on Netflix.
Matthew Lillard joins the new season as a CIA operative who can bring down Mayor Fisk, but the government agent isn’t exactly on the right side. Lillard’s run of villains continues with Five Nights at Freddy’s, Cross Season 2, and he recently reprised his killer character in Scream 7. The actor brings the same manic energy to his latest role on the Disney+ series.
Other standout performances come from Margarita Levieva’s Dr. Heather Glenn, who is slowly unraveling after her brutal attack in Season 1 and now views all street vigilantes, including Daredevil, as dangerous.
Surprises and Cameos
Jessica Jones’ return (Krysten Ritter) is no secret, but her grand entrance will definitely go viral the moment she hits the screen. The superhuman private investigator’s appearance has implications for the future of the MCU.
The finale will also have the internet ablaze, and I can’t wait for the comments surrounding this gigantic event (which I’m sworn to secrecy about).
Connection to Spider-Man: Brand New Day
The recent Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer dropped a few connections to Daredevil. First, Jon Bernthal returns as Frank Castle/The Punisher, but he’s hunting Spider-Man (Tom Holland) in the trailer. Then Sheila Rivera (Zabryna Guevara), Fisk's political advisor, awards Spider-Man a medal at a City Hall ceremony. Finally, Spider-Man faces off against the shadowy ninja organization known as The Hand, which has only made an appearance in Daredevil Seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix, Iron Fist, and The Defenders.
The Daredevil: Born Again season 2 finale may answer some of those questions while opening the door to more speculation.
The first episode of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is now streaming on Disney+ with new episodes dropping every Tuesday at 6 p.m. PT (with a double-episode drop on March 31) through May 5, 2026.
