Director Michael Lopez Prime Video movie Red White and Blue

Director Michael Lopez adapts RED, WHITE & ROYAL BLUE novel into a streaming movie for Prime Video with two gay leads as the romantic interest in a familiar rom-com. Lopez reveals his efforts in finding the right actors and whether the filmmaker was given carte blanche for the sex scenes.

RED, WHITE & ROYAL BLUE is now streaming on Prime Video.

Based on the best-selling novel by Casey McQuiston and acclaimed by the critics of the New York Times, with the film adaptation written and directed by the Puerto Rican winner of a Tony Award, Matthew López.

RED, WHITE & ROYAL BLUE stars Taylor Zakhar Perez (The Kissing Booth) as Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the president of the United States played by Uma Thurman, and Nicholas Galitzine (PURPLE HEARTS) as Prince Henry of Great Britain. Alex and Henry's long feud is altered by a disastrous and public altercation in a real event that becomes the focus of attention, forcing the two rivals into a staged "truce" that ends up generating something deeper than they expected. As the poster says, love gets royally complicated.
