'Barbie' Movie is Headed to IMAX for a 7-Day Run with New Post Credit Scene

BARBIE, the highest-grossing 2023 film domestically, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, will return to theaters in a big way with an IMAX run starting on September 22. The limited IMAX engagement will run 7 days only, with additional footage. Check out what extras will be shown below.
The IMAX BARBIE will include a special greeting from director/co-writer Greta Gerwig who is now the only solo female director to helm a $1 billion dollar film. Gerwig is not alone with other women in the $1 billion club that includes FROZEN and FROZEN 2 co-director Jennifer Lee for FROZEN and FROZEN 2, and Anna Boden as co-director on CAPTAIN MARVEL.
The Warner Bros. press release also states that an additional post-credit scene will be added.

As a special treat for IMAX audiences only, a special greeting from director Greta Gerwig will play before the film, and exclusive post-credit footage, selected by Gerwig, will follow. Gerwig directed “Barbie” from a screenplay by Gerwig & Oscar nominee Noah Baumbach (“Marriage Story,” “The Squid and the Whale”), based on Barbie by Mattel.
