Argentine horror flick PHASE 7 comes to DVD, iTunes, TV Video on Demand and other platforms on October 4, 2011. Heralded for its clever combination of humor and gore when it premiered at the SXSW, PHASE 7 mixes satire, humor, horror and social commentary in a way that reminds viewers of the arch SHAUN OF THE DEAD and the savvy claustrophobia of [rec].
The apocalyptic horror film, PHASE 7 was directed and written by Nicolás Goldbart; produced by Sebastian Aloi; executive produced by Steven Schneider (Insidious, Paranormal Activity). With a “top-notch” cast, the movie stars Daniel Hendler (LOST EMBRACE); Jazmín Stuart (THE PARANOIDS); Yayo Guridi (LOS RODRIGUEZ); and Federico Luppi (PAN’S LABYRINTH).
The film will be available through cable via video on demand (VOD) channels for PHASE 7, on Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, RCN, Verizon, Charter, Cablevision, and AT&T.
In the film, Coco (Hendler) has just moved to a new apartment with his wife Pipi (Stuart), who’s seven months pregnant. At first, they don’t seem to notice the growing chaos around them, but when authorities quarantine their building after a deadly pandemic breaks out, Coco joins forces with his off-kilter but well-prepared and stocked next-door neighbor Horacio to defend his refrigerator and keep Pipi safe.
Meanwhile, outside the building, Buenos Aires—and the world as the apartment denizens know it, is disappearing. The world is ending; got ammo?
Imaginemos el siguiente escenario: una epidemia mortal está diezmando a la población mundial. En Buenos Aires, una joven pareja vive su vida tranquilamente sin saber que dentro de muy poco tiempo el caos y el “sálvese quien pueda” serán las nuevas reglas del juego, cuando su edificio sea puesto en cuarentena y se transforme en un microcosmos espeluznante donde cada vecino puede ser un potencial aliado que nos salve la vida, o convertirse en nuestro verdugo. Este es el punto de partida para “Phase 7”, película con la que debuta el joven director Nicolás Goldbart y que será lanzada el 4 de octubre en DVD y alternativas de descarga digital como parte de la serie “Bloody Disgusting” que edita The Collective junto a Vivendi Universal.

PHASE 7 is distribute by The Collective, a full-service entertainment management and content company, along with leading theatrical and distribution company AMC Theatres (AMC), and #1 Horror website BloodyDisgusting.com. The joint venture will acquire and distribute the best new horror and thriller titles from the festival and international markets to AMC theatres across America.
Other films from the series are available to fans of the genre in DVD, Video on Demand (VOD), online and television. Released though The Collective’s home-video partnership with Vivendi Universal, DVDs for titles in the Bloody Disgusting series will feature unrated content, bonus features and special packaging for each title. Also available from the series are RAMMBOCK: BERLIN UNDEAD and YELLOWBRICKROAD.
