Brad Pitt: 'It's Shameful I Didn't Know About Baseball'

Brad Pitt may play a baseball team's general manager in MONEYBALL, but the actor admits he was "shamefully" not too knowledgeable about America's pastime.


Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill and their MONEYBALL co-stars premiered the film at this week's Toronto Film Festival where buzz is building on the leading man's Oscar-worthy performance in this true story. MONEYBALL is based on the Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane's attempt to put together a baseball team with a limited budget.

In an interview with the MONEYBALL star, Brad Pitt admitted he had to do a lot of research on baseball to make up for his lack of knowledge on the sport and sports figure. He called it "shameful," but he says he is now hooked on the game.

Angelina Jolie accompanied her man on the red carpet at the MONEYBALL premiere in Toronto.

MONEYBALL is in movie theaters September 23, 2011.
